Cows being offered a ration of 18% starch were given Optipartum-C+ farm pack (200g/cow/day) over 2 months. The herd was milk-recorded each month to show any change in yield at each stage of lactation.
The data shows that across most stages of lactation, the yield is increased, leading to an average yield increase of 2.2 litres on a falling number of milking cows.
272 milking cows at start averaged 30.5 litres. After 60 days on Optipartum-C+ 267 cows are yielding an average of 32.7 litres.
